The Yass Prize for Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding and Permissionless education is a rapidly growing effort to find, reward, celebrate and expand best-in-class education organizations from every sector, in every state, and to create unprecedented partnerships that accelerate impact with the speed and urgency our students deserve.
On October 10, the YASS Prize organization announced that RESC had been named as one of the 33 Semifinalists for the $1 million 2023 YASS Prize award. As a Semifinalist, RESC will receive $200,000 and participate in an accelerator program that will provide them access to industry experts in a variety of fields.
Semifinalists were chosen based on their “record and commitment to redefining and transforming education.” Randolph Eastern is being considered for the award in light of its dual enrollment and industry training programs for rural students.
“This recognition reflects our team’s hard work and dedication, as well as our unwavering commitment to inspire, instruct and support our students as they develop into productive citizens. It’s a testament to our efforts to make a meaningful difference in our school and community,” said RESC Superintendent Aaron Black.
In addition, the YASS Prize organization announced that the 33 Semifinalists will also compete for the new "Parents Choice" award, worth $250,000.
